Hotel Faust Policies
Express Check In:
Check in at 4:00 PM. Early check in is available upon request but not guaranteed.
All doors have an electronic lock. 1 day prior to your check in, you will receive a 4-digit code that will allow you access to your reserved hotel room. The specific code you receive does not work on any other door at the hotel.
Express Check Out:
Check Out by 11:00 AM. No need to stop by the office as receipts will be emailed. A late check out of 1:00 PM is available for $25.00 and will be charged to your credit card on file.
Hotel Faust requires a minimum stay of two nights on weekends (Friday - Saturday; Saturday - Sunday). Wednesday afternoon any remaining rooms for the coming weekend are released for single nights.

All of our rooms are designed to comfortably accommodate up to two guests, with the exception of our two-bedroom Gorman Cottage which can accommodate up to four guests. On request, and in a select few rooms, we can provide a roll-a-way bed for a third guest for $40/night + tax. Please call/text us at (830) 431-2112 to coordinate. Suite 7 -Algelt and Suite 9-Gorman Cottage will accommodate a roll away.

Free ample parking is available on High Street in front of the hotel or any side streets. Hotel Faust is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to vehicles.
Because of the historic nature of Hotel Faust, we do not allow pets on the premises. A $250.00 cleaning fee will be charged for breaking the No Pet policy.
Cool retro bikes are available for check out. Please see the office for details and to sign your waiver form. Must be 16 or older and accompanied by an adult for bike check out. NOTE: Brakes work by peddling backwards.
Because Hotel Faust is a historic property with a relaxing ambiance, overnight guests must be sixteen and older. Children are counted towards the maximum occupancy for each room.
Our property is historic and was built in 1880 and is not handicap accessible. It has lots of stairs, uneven foot paths, and no elevators. Access to the Altgelt, Gorman Cottage, Log Cabin, Goldbeck, Giles and Faust Suites require use of steps and/or stairs.
Hotel Faust is a smoke-free property. Smoking, vaping, candles, cigarettes, cigars are not permitted in any of the rooms/suites, inside common areas nor around the property except in a few designated areas (please see management for details). If a room has been smoked in, the guest will be charged a $250.00 cleaning fee.
We take great pride in our establishment. We provide a comfortable experience for each of our guests. Guests will be charged for any theft, damages and excessive clean up to rooms and/or property beyond the usual wear and tear of a normal hotel stay. Hotel Faust is not responsible for any loss or theft from the room. Please note, coloring books, colored pencils, wine glasses, cork screws, coffee maker, hangers, hairdryers, bedding, towels and/or any other items in your room are inventoried as part of the room set up. Any item(s) missing will be charged to your account. This policy also applies to any items on Hotel Faust's property. Any item(s) missing and or damaged will be charged to your credit card on file.
At the time of your booking a 50% credit card payment is due to secure your reservation. The remaining 50% will be charged to the credit card on file 14 days prior to your arrival. If booking less than 14 days out, the entire balance will be charged.
Cancellations greatly affect a small business like ours with only fifteen rooms/suites. All reservations will be charged in full for failure to show, cancel request, shortened stay/check out early with less than 14 days' notice or less than 60 days' notice for group bookings. Cancellation requests must be received by 12:00 PM 14 days before your arrival date and 60 days before your arrival date for groups. No Exceptions.
If you cancel 14 days or more, a 60 days or more on group bookings, a refund will be processed less a $25 cancellation fee.
Group/Block bookings do not include the exclusive us of the Conference Room, Gazebo, Grand Salon, Deck Areas, Courtyard or the other areas on the property. Private Events require a site fee and must be booked separately.
Hotel Faust provides limited housekeeping. Fresh towels and amenities are available upon request. Text (830) 431-2112 between 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Irons and ironing boards are located in the downstairs restroom located at the end of the Historic Building with the door marked "Toilette". Please return iron and ironing board once finished.
Items Left Behind:
Please contact the hotel if you feel you left items behind. Hotel Faust will ship your lost items to you within 7 to 10 days of your stay. Shipping cost + $10 handling will be charged to your credit card on file. Hotel Faust is not responsible for items left and not claimed past 30 days of your stay and will donate items not claimed to local charities when applicable.
Gift Certificate Redemption:
Please call to book your stay when using a Gift Certificate. The Gift Certificate number must be provided at the time of booking. A credit card is required to remain on file for remaining balances and/or additional transactions. Gift Certificate must be presented at check in.
